Orange has announced the availability of its new
signature PDA, the SPV M500TM. The compact format provides the
full-colour, touch-screen functionality of a PDA, combined with a
mobile phone and digital camera in a smaller size than traditional
PDA devices.
The SPV M500TM supports a range of mobile applications including
email that enable businesses to work more effectively when out of
the office. The device runs Microsoft® Windows Mobile™ 2003
software for Pocket PCs, including Pocket Word, Pocket Excel,
Pocket Outlook®, Windows Media® Player, MSN Messenger and Pocket
Internet Explorer. The device can also be used to mobilise
existing business applications being used by customers.
Shaun Orpen, marketing director, Orange Business Solutions said:
“The SPV M500 is a significant step forward for customers that want
all the benefits of a Windows based PDA but with a smaller form
factor.”
“The smaller size makes the SPV M500 ideally suited for
executives who want access to a broad range of solutions from email
through to accessing corporate data while on the move. “
As with all Orange Signature phones, the SPV M500TM gives
customers a unique Orange experience on their phone, providing them
with a range of exclusive applications and services. This includes
Orange BackupTM (which allows customers to store their personal and
business data on the Orange network and restore those details when
required), Packet Video player (offering Packet Video’s innovative
progressive download service for smoother access to video content)
and Orange UpdateTM, which allows customers to trial and download
new applications such as travel information and news services.
Orange Help is also included as an electronic user guide stored
directly on the device.
Additionally, Orange Business Solutions provides comprehensive
and dedicated customer support, ensuring that businesses can manage
their device investment in a cost-effective and simple way. Among
its range of services, for its larger customers Orange provides a
full support and implementation service including needs-analysis
and clear deployment processes and on-going technical support.
Orange also provides access to phone trainers– teams of dedicated
experts who are trained to help customers get the most from their
mobile devices.
