Netscape has released an updated version of its Netscape 8
browser to fix a bug that broke XML rendering in pages accessed by
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. The problem
occurred when users installed the new Netscape browser onto their
desktop and also tried to use the Internet Explorer browser.
Many users like to
use more than one browser on their desktops, particularly those
requiring access to certain different features.
Netscape has
issued version 8.0.2 to alleviate the problem, which blanked pages
in Internet Explorer.
This is the second
update to Netscape 8 since it was launched last month. Within hours
of launch, Netscape had to issue a security patch to fix several
known vulnerabilities that had affected other browsers.
Microsoft had
suggested uninstalling Netscape 8 until a fix was found.
