O2 has entered a partnership with Segala to validate all
its web-based products against WAI AA guidelines, promoting a high
degree of usability for people with disabilities.
Segala will provide ongoing advice on mobile device
accessibility for the UK’s market leader in mobile web products.
Segala is currently one of only two W3C consortium members in the
UK to provide a web accessibility conformance validation
service.
O2’s Dermot O’Mahony, head of portal production, said, “More
than half our customer base is online and many need assistance to
navigate our website effectively, due to impaired sight or a
disability.
“People accessing the web from the array of new mobile devices
are another important web community. We wanted an accessible and
compliant website that ultimately offers our customers a better
experience.”
