Wirral Council has struck a seven-year deal with Fujitsu
Services to transform the way it delivers services.
The partnership will see Fujitsu using its managed IT services
to improve the way Wirral’s staff work and deliver better services
faster and more effectively.
Steve Maddox, the council’s chief executive, said he looked
forward to working with Fujitsu. “This is a fantastic opportunity
with enormous potential for customer service. We have been
streamlining and modernising our organisation, and the signing of
this agreement marks the start of an exciting new phase in our
plans, which will see us harnessing new technologies to deliver our
services more efficiently.”
The first phase of the project involves the implementation of a
customer relationship management system allowing staff to pool data
so they can respond to the full range of customer needs quicker and
more effectively.
The next phases of the project will involve replacing
back-office systems such as payroll and financial management, and
implementing knowledge management to improve the handling of
documents and internal data.
