Security is a key theme of this year’s CeBit trade show,
with a focus on mobile device security.
Security software firm Kaspersky Lab is showcasing Kaspersky
Guard @Net 5.0, an enterprise product which it describes as a
"virtual security appliance".
It is a content security management tool designed to protect
enterprise networks running on Linux against viruses, hackers and
spam. It uses a virtual private network to protect networks that
cover multiple sites.
Kaspersky is also launching Anti-Virus 5.5 for Microsoft ISA
Server 2000 Enterprise Edition to protect corporate networks;
SMTP-Gateway for Linux-Unix, an e-mail filtering product; and
demonstrating a beta of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Microsoft
Exchange Server. It is also introducing mobile security
products.
Security supplier Utimaco is unveiling a product to protect
against data theft and manipulation. Safeguard PDA 3.0 provides
intelligent authentication and encryption technology for handheld
devices. It can encrypt files, directories and internal
databases.
Safeguard Advanced Security can control the use of plug-and-play
devices such as memory sticks.
