As Microsoft puts the final touches to its SQL Server
2005 database a handful of third-party developers have announced
applications that will run on the product.
SQL Server 2005 is already on its second developer community
technology preview, and developers are now helping Microsoft to
prepare the market for its commercial launch.
The exact launch date and the cost of SQL Server 2005 has yet to
be finalised.
Cartesis, Geac, OutlookSoft, Panorama and ProClarity are among
Microsoft partners that have built business intelligence
applications for use on the Microsoft SQL Server platform.
Cartesis has used SQL Server business intelligence tools to
build the next release of its real-time business performance
management engine. Cartesis will provide customers with real-time
relational and online analytical processing reporting for
comprehensive and integrated business performance management
information.
Geac will provide users with a version of its Geac Performance
Management product with a reporting services module that
automatically generates reports for executives, boards, auditors
and operation reviews.
