The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham has signed
a £1m deal with services supplier Civica for the provision of an
e-procurement service.
Civica will implement its Radius Financials Purchasing module,
which will allow the council to electronically manage the
purchase-to-pay cycle of high-volume goods and services. The system
will also manage the hiring of temporary staff.
The system will integrate with the council's existing Cedar E5
financial system.
Council departments will be able to self invoice, raise orders, and
validate and reconcile costs in one integrated electronic process,
instead of relying on different paper-based and electronic
systems.
Manoj Patel, Hammersmith and Fulham's head of finance IT, said,
"The council currently spends more than £100m on goods and services
and we are committed to achieving tangible benefits in the short
and medium term through process efficiencies and savings."
The programme will allow the council to spend savings on front-line
services, where they are most needed, said Patel.
