
Microsoft Business Solutions struggles
to explain the difference between its Axapta, Great Plains,
Navision and Solomon brands, all of which provide financial
software and related applications for the SME market. Analysts and
software competitors often ask when MBS is going to cull the herd
and reduce the offerings to just one or two.
But our interviews with MBS executives
and channel partners have convinced us that none of the products
should be discontinued. Instead, we believe Microsoft will position
MBS as the primary brand and bring all four application suites
under that umbrella.
