Kaspersky Lab has targeted the SME market with its
launch of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows File Servers and
Kaspersky Administration Kit 5.0.
Both programs detect riskware, incorporate a new user interface
and permit the central management of up to 1,000 machines. The
company said that application performance had improved, while the
amount of resources required to run the programs had been
reduced.
The systems form part of Kaspersky Anti-Virus Business Optimal
5.0 and Kaspersky Corporate Suite, designed to protect small and
medium business networks. All the product suite supports mobile
users.
The company said that the antivirus components of the software
were even more effective at guarding against viruses than preceding
versions, protecting workstations and file servers against
malicious programs, including those found in the most common
archive formats, such as ZIP, ARJ, CAB and RAR.
