The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister last week offered a
further £150,000 of government funding in 2005-2006 to every local
authority that submits a "satisfactory" IEG4 (Implementing
E-Government) statement by the 20 December deadline. The IEG
statements are designed to monitor progress towards Tony Blair's
2005 government targets for getting public services
online.
ODPM e-government programme manager Julian Bowrey has written to
local authority chief executives to brief them on developments
since June.
The ODPM plans to publish final IEG4 guidance this month.
The further £150,000 of funding, available in 2005-2006, is the
second part of the £500,000 per council that was originally
allocated to assist with projects, said an ODPM spokeswoman.
