Two of the most high-profile figures in financial services IT have left blue-chip organisations to join start-up companies they helped found.

Mark Hemsley has left EuronextLiffe, where he was chief information officer and managing director of the stock exchange's IT division spin-off, to become chief executive at Choreology, a business transaction software company.

Meanwhile, Jim Spowart, who helped create internet bank Intelligent Finance, has joined systems support company Adventi as director of business strategy after leaving Halifax Bank of Scotland last year.
