InterQuad Learning was crowned training company of the year
at the annual Institute of IT Training's awards, held at The
Dorchester in London's Park Lane earlier this month. QA took second
place and Happy Computers came third.
More than 400 people attended the event, which honours the best IT
training providers. The ceremony included an address by TV
presenter Esther Rantzen and a charity auction which raised a
record £13,045.
DLA IT Learning won two awards: training department of the year and
internal training project of the year.
TUI UK, the holiday company that includes Thomson Holidays and Lunn
Poly, won the internal e-learning project of the year award.
Runners up in this category were the Scottish Prison Service
College and retailer Argos
The External e-learning project of the year was won by Spring IT
Training, and Deutsche Bank picked-up the staff development-of the
year award.
The Institute of IT Training was formed in 1995. More than
three-quarters of the UK's IT training is given by suppliers
accredited to the institute.
"The past year has been a momentous one for the institute, during
which we became part of the National Computing Centre," said Colin
Steed, the IITT's chief executive. "In our new phase of
development, we have plans this year to enhance our services to
members and expand our influence with government. Obviously, we
shall have access to the vast array of the NCC's standards, best
practice guidelines."
