The two-day Compsec 2003 security conference this week
(30-31 October, QE2 Conference Centre, Westminster) is no
run-of-the mill IT security event. It is the one UK occasion for
top IT security practitioners, academics, consultants, suppliers
and law enforcement agencies to come together to share
knowledge.
The security sector is burgeoning, with 30% growth - the best in
IT. How security is applied, both technically and managerially,
will be discussed by top UK industrialists, with security leaders
from the Bank of England, NHS Information Authority, HSBC Holdings,
ABN Amro, Standard Chartered Bank, Pfizer, Norwich Union and
Scottish Power, as well as suppliers and analysts.
Compsec is run by Computers and Security, a publication for IT
security professionals that comes from the same stable as Computer
Weekly, and several of the speakers at Compsec will be familiar to
IT chiefs who have attended Computer Weekly's Infosecurity user
group meetings.
