All the members of the computer crime unit at the Metropolitan Police are joining the BCS to gain professional recognition and provide comment to the BCS Information Security Specialist Group.

The officers are highly trained in IT security and forensics and have a wealth of policing and detective skills.

Four members are certified in information system security, three have MScs in information security, one has an MSc in legal jurisprudence and two are working on PhDs in security.

Detective sergeant Steve Santorelli said, "It is essential to gain professional recognition, and the BCS membership gives us the credibility we deserve."
