E-business will achieve sustained growth, at least in the short
term, in developed and developing countries alike, according to the
annual e-commerce and development report from the United
Nations.
The report, published this week, said case studies on Costa Rica
and India demonstrate how e-services can contribute to enhancing
export competitiveness and producing high value-added services that
boost the local economy.
In order to seize such opportunities, the report said, developing
countries and their partners must address such issues as market
access and domestic bottlenecks in technology, payments,
telecommunications and meeting acceptable standards.
