Princeton Softech has introduced Archive for ServersT Release 4.0
and Archive for DB2T Release 5.0, targeted at the archiving
market
Active archiving solves application performance problems by moving
infrequently used data from production databases, and placing it
into an "active" archive, where it is easy to research and
selectively restore when needed.
"Mission-critical systems require strong doses of ongoing
housecleaning if they are to provide sustained competitive
advantage," said Rich Evans, vice president of enterprise data
centre strategies for Meta Group, a leading IT industry analysis
firm. "Companies are going to be looking to 'active archiving'
solutions to increase the performance of their databases while
controlling maintenance and capacity costs."
"Our customers' databases are growing at an unprecedented rate,
with some doubling, even tripling, in a year's time," said
president and chief executive officer of Princeton Softech, Lisa
Cash.
